Value retail chain Peacocks has committed long term to Gosport in taking out a new ten year lease on its current premises at 63-64 Gosport High Street.

At the same time, the 9,700 sq ft unit has been acquired as part of a portfolio by a private investor for in excess of £600,000. This transaction adds to an existing portfolio of local properties including 62 Gosport High Street.

Both the sale and letting were managed by Tom Holloway, director of Hampshire agent Holloway, Iliffe & Mitchell who comments:

“Gosport High Street has seen activity recover over the last year and as a result availability has reduced. It is good news for the town that Peacocks has committed to staying for another ten years. The property’s new owners already hold other investments in Gosport including the adjacent units, and in a market where quality investments are increasingly difficult to find, were quick to acquire this site in an off market deal.”
